I never thought this would be me. I have been exposed more and more to the Apple world over the last few months. I made the switch from Windows to Ubuntu (Lucid Linux) a few months ago. Yet I still use Windows as my primary OS (operating System). The other day I was sent the information on Apple, Inc's new MacBook Air and I have to say I am impressed. I have wanted a nice small laptop that would be easy to throw in my bag and take with me out around town to blog as I go. I had decided the way for me to go was to have a netbook and remove the Windows OS and replace it with the Ubuntu OS for netbooks. Until I physically saw the 11.6 in Macbook Air I was still convinced that this was the route I needed to take. I was also concerned about the price. Was the Apple really worth 4x as much as a cheap netbook? I have to say, Yes it is.
When I was in the Apple store I went to the machine and compared it to the 13 inch MacBook Air and I still like the look and feel of an 11 inch machine. It is super light coming it at 2.3lbs with flash memory and ultra thin batteries giving up to 5 hours of battery life. WOW to top it off I was impressed with the ease of the keyboard buttons and the size of the mouse track pad area. I can't think of one downside to the machine other than having to learn a new operating system (which should be easy). It is so cool I would convert everyone I know if I could.
I just need to get about $1200.00 together and I can have a nice new MacBook Air with the increase memory.
